I’d heard there was a nest of green herons under the Cascade Falls Bald Cypress. So intent on watching the ground, I didn’t notice the great blue heron standing atop the tree. As I backed up to give it space, the bird and I locked eyes and it slowly stretched out it’s wing. I thanked it for its kindness and went on my way.
